Puppy's first groom in Sidcup
A puppy's first few visits are about confidence, not a perfect haircut. We keep them short, quiet and positive so grooming becomes normal rather than frightening.
What's involved
- Bath, low-heat dry, nails, ears, and a light face, feet and sanitary tidy.
- Sessions are kept to around an hour so nobody runs out of patience.
- Bring them from around 12–16 weeks, once their second vaccinations have settled.
- We introduce clippers and dryers gradually and stop before they get overwhelmed.

When can my puppy have their first groom?
Usually from 12–16 weeks, a week or two after their second vaccination.
Will they get a full haircut?
Not at first. Early visits build tolerance; full styling starts once your puppy is comfortable being handled, dried and clipped.
How often after that?
Every four to six weeks while they're young keeps the routine familiar and the coat manageable.
